PDRRMO issues weather advisory due to heavy rains

VIRAC, Catanduanes, Nov. 13, (PIA) - Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) here has issued a weather advisory following a gale warning issued by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

According to PDRRMO, the gale warning issued by PAGASA on the Eastern seaboards of the country is a warning to fishermen to avoid unprecedented events.

In this connection, fishermen and small boats are advised not to venture out of sea amid big waves and the heavy rains brought by the low pressure in Mindanao.

The office has also alerted its Municipal and Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils to monitor their area for possible landslides and flashfloods brought by the continuous rains.

Meanwhile, Gov. Wong also encourages the public to be on alert especially during bad weathers to avoid any accidents and lose of lives.

She said that residents especially those in low-lying and coastal areas must evacuate as need arises.(MAL/EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
