SORSOGON CITY, Nov 3, 2015 (PIA) –-Transactions with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) have been made more convenient to the public at its new building here, said the city’s chief fireman Tuesday.
“With a bigger area in our newly owned building, the bureau guarantees to give its best in rendering public safety which is our main concern,” Chief Inspector Walter B. Marcial said.
He said their transfer last Oct. 19 from Amberg Compound at Barangay San Juan to the P2-million building inside the City Government Complex in Barangay Cabid-an was funded in 2013 by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) with the help of Sen. Francis Escudero.
The BFP has now a title to the land on which its new building stands because the P7-million property was donated by the city government, he added.
Marcial said the DBM has allocated P3 million more for the construction of the second floor of the building, works on which will be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways before the year ends. (EAD/BAR/FBT/PIA5-Sorsogon/BFP).
