LEGAZPI CITY, May 4 (PIA) – More than 80 local and overseas employers joined the two simultaneous jobs fair held in the Bicol region on Labor Day.
“It’s simple math actually. More employers, more vacancies, more vacancies means more chances of landing a job for the applicants,” DOLE Bicol regional director Nathaniel V. Lacambra said.
The jobs fair were held at the Activity Center of LCC Mall in Legazpi City, Albay and at SM Naga City in Camarines Sur.
“We want to make sure that Bicolanos would really feel the essence of Labor Day and what could be more meaningful than facilitating one to find a job.” he said.
SM Naga jobs fair run on May 1-2 with added Livelihood Fair on the second day.
“Aside from offering jobs, we also wanted to showcase our livelihood program beneficiaries,” Lacambra added.
The livelihood fair showcased not only the livelihood program of the office but also the products of the beneficiaries.
The jobs fair in Legazpi City is sponsored by LCC Mall, PESO Legazpi and ABS-CBN TV 4 Bicol while the one in Naga is sponsored by SM Naga, Naga Colleges Foundation (NCF), Metro Naga PESO and ABS-CBN TV 4 Bicol.
The 11-agencies of the DOLE Regional Coordinating Committee (DOLE RCC V) also set up their booth during the said jobs fair.(MAL/SAA/DOLE5/PIA5/Albay)
