DAET, Camarines Norte, March 11 (PIA) – A total of 124 infrastructure projects amounting to more than P819 million were completed by the Camarines Norte District Engineering Office (CNDEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
CNDEO officer in charge Engr. Elmer R. Redrico said that 124 are part of the 153 infrastructure projects targeted for the year, while the 29 other are still on-going projects. The programmed amount for the 153 infrastructure projects is more than P1.3 billion.
The district engineering office implemented and programmed the construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of infrastructure facilities like highways roads and bridges; flood control and drainage/river control; preliminary and detailed engineering; urgent arterial/secondary roads and bridges; farm to market roads and bridges and other infrastructure project; national buildings and various infrastructure including local projects. These were locally funded projects.
There were also foreign assisted projects for highways; airports, flood control and water supply.
He said that some of the projects recently completed were Mabulao Bridge along Tagas-Daet-Poblacion-Magang Road; Laniton Bridge along Maharlika Highway; School Building at Alawihao High School, Daet; Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) with seawall along Pres. Cory Aquino Boulevard, San Jose Section, Talisay; and construction of seawall and PCCP along Pres. Cory Aquino Boulevard, Bagasbas Section, Bagasbas, Daet.
The implementation of these projects also creates job opportunity to marginalized sector of the community, he said.
On the other hand the DPWH-CNDEO also participated in the Computer Literacy Examination conducted by the Regional Information Management Services wherein they got 100% passing rate last year.
The district contingent team to Tacloban City also received a certificate of recognition from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for their unfailing support to the clearing operations launched during the calamity disaster operation caused by Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2014.
They also conducted the blood donation drive as part of the 114th Civil Service Anniversary; coastal clean-up drive along Bagasbas Beach and participated several inter-agency activities in the province. (MAL/RBM-PIA5/Camarines Norte)
