NAGA CITY, Jan. 15 (PIA)---  The Department of Education (DepEd) here, pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 13 series of 2015 officially announced January 24, Saturday as the start of a one-day early registration and enrolment activity for all kinder, transferees and incoming Grade 1 pupils.

This early enlistment campaign endeavors to check on the number of pre –school children who will be entering their preparatory years. It basically aims to address the lack of classrooms, chairs, learning and instructional

Naga City DepEd School Division Superintendent Emma I. The said activity is also on offshoot of the K to 12 Basic Education Program of DepEd which started in 2011.  It aims “to achieve the government’s vision of universal participation and completion of basic education of all Filipino children” by encouraging and made kinder a pre-requisite for a pupil to enter elementary.

Last week, DepEd already initiated the start of school-parents’ conference and assembly in all public schools in Naga to ensure that the said program is understood and well-circulated.

Cornejo said that aside from the said assemblies, they will also visit schools and conduct a massive information dissemination campaign to alert the adjoining barangays about the early enrollment campaign.

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) will spearhead the enlistment for out-of-school-youths.
