VIRAC, Catanduanes, Jan. 7 (PIA) -- The Department of Education (DepEd) division office here will spearhead an institutional program initiative for principals in the province starting January 10, 2015 at DepEd, Catanduanes.
Dubbed as “Principals Academy”, the activity will be implemented to provide school leaders with the required level of necessary competency amidst changes in the educational environment, institutional strategies and policies and organizational directions.
DepEd Division Schools Superintendent Jose L. Doncillo said the activitiy is anchored on the Leadership Excellence towards Accelerating Performance (LEAP) -- a flagship program of the Division which is anchored on the strategic objective of the division on improving school governance capability of school leaders towards building excellent schools.
The program shall run for 8-modules facilitated by the Division in partnership with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes and other external stakeholders.
A total of fifty (50) participants composed of Principals, Head Teachers and Teachers-in-Charge who have been selected from both levels shall compose the second batch.
The Batch 1 of the activity was held on August 15, 2014 at the ARDCI Function Hall, Virac town.
According to Doncillo, aside from being a professional development program for school heads in the Division, the activity will also enhance the quality of service being offered by the department to its clientle, particularly the students. (EAB/ PIA Catanduanes)
