VIRAC, Catanduanes, Dec. 27, (PIA) - The Catanduanes Barangay Nutrition Scholar Federation (CBNSF) spearheaded yesterday, December 26, 2013 the Training and Orientation on Nutrition in Emergency.
CBNSF is an association of nutrition scholars in the province which implements nutrition programs in the different barangays of the province to eradicate malnutrition problem in the island.
The theme of the activity was: “BNS Bida ng Barangay, Bida ng Bayan.”
According to Ms. Liberty So-Guerrero, BNS volunteer and CBNSF president, the activity's purpose was to update the malnutrition status of Catanduanes.
She said that with the continuous effort of every member of the group and through the support of the provincial and national government, they are hoping that the malnutrition status of the province will improve.
Based on the 2012 Nutrition Survey, Catanduanes has the highest case of malnutrition in the entire Bicol Region.
In attendance were the Barangay Nutrition Scholar of the entire province and all municipal nutrition officer of every town.
