VIRAC, Catanduanes, Oct. 11 (PIA) – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) is set to conduct a meeting on Data Gathering and the Mechanics of the Crafting of the Local Investment Plan for Health (LIPH) 2017-2019 on October 14, 2016.
Dr. Hazel A. Palmes, Provincial Health Officer II of the PHO said that in 2006 the Province-wide Investment Plan for Health (PIPH) was introduced to strengthen local health planning and to localize the Health Sector Reform Agenda. The PIPH is a 3 year plan which was regularly updated thereafter.
With the new administration, the Provincial Government through the Local Implementation and Coordination Team (LICT) will facilitate the crafting of the said plan now referred as the Local Investment Plan for Health (LIPH) covering CY 2017-2019.
The LIPH is a localization tool of national health programs. It shall serve as basis for resource mobilization and investment planning towards attaining local and national health goals and an official means for the Department of Health (DOH) and development partners to engage Local Government Units (LGUs).
It shall be guided by the National Objectives for Health (NOH), DOH implementation framework, LGUs Development Plans and Sustainable Health Development Goals.
Palmes likewise clarified that the meeting on data gathering and the mechanics of crafting of the LIPH will be held on October 14 while the orientation on the LIPH on October 24, 2016 at Capitol Dome, Virac.
Expected participants are Municipal Health Officers, SB Committee Chairmen on Health, Municipal Planning & Development Officers, Municipal Budget Officers, Municipal Accountants and Barangay Captains from 11 Municipalities. (EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
