The demographics are also significant in the formulation of policies and programs for the effective and efficient delivery of basic services to the constituents, especially in the allocation of resources and revenues.

The statistical data relating to the population also determines the consumer demands and supply of labor for the production of goods and services and is significantly helpful in the identification of business sites. POPCEN 2015 was conducted pursuant to Republic Act No.10625 or the Statistical Act of 2013 which mandates the PSA to conduct national censuses and survey and surveys and Executive Order No. 352 which requires the conduct of mid-decade census.

The same EO also mandates the designation of statistical activities that will generate critical data for decision making of the government and the private sector. (MAL/LSM-PIA5/ Camarines Sur)
