Missing school principal in Sorsogon City found; Sorsoganons lauded PNP efforts

Sorsogon City, May 17 (PIA) – Relatives, friends, acquaintances, including Governor-elect Robert Rodrigueza, lauded the efforts and strategies employed by the Philippine National Police here in investigating and taking quick action to locate the whereabouts of the missing elementary school principal, Christian Ana Delos Angeles.

After barely two weeks of tough effort to find Delos Angeles, public school principal of Ticol Elementary School in Sorsogon City, local authorities here considered the search as finally over.

In a press release, P/Supt. Nonito F. Marquez, Police Community Relation-Public Information Office head of Sorsogon Police Provincial Office, divulged that at around 8:50PM of May 16, 2016, elements of Sorsogon City Police Station (CPS) led by P/SInsp. Romeo Triñanes Rocio, Jr. while conducting Oplan Sita along Alegre St. in Brgy Burabod, this city, flagged down a black skeleton motorcycle driven by a minor with also a minor backride.

The driver failed to present necessary documents of ownership and upon verification, the chassis and engine number matched with the Honda Dash 110 of the missing school principal, consequently, have them arrested.

Ensuing a lawful search on the driver’s sling bag, two (2) Indian arrows with sling and one (1) brass knuckles were recovered. Also recovered from the possession and control of the back rider was one (1) balisong 6.5 inches from handle to tip.

The driver likewise narrated voluntarily that he knew the location of the cadaver of the missing Delos Angeles.

Thereafter, personnel of Sorsogon CPS together with the driver immediately proceeded at Sitio Gabao, Brgy San Roque, Bacon District, Sorsogon City and found a male dead person with multiple stab wounds lying in a creek near the pathway at the said place.

Likewise, follow-up operation resulted in the arrest of four (4) other suspects, all minors.

At about 10:00 PM, personnel of Sorsogon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office led by SPO1 Aljo M. Liray processed the crime scene and recovered one black sling bag without a content which according to the victim’s relative belongs to Christian Delos Angeles.

Meanwhile, it can be recalled that Pulis Kasanggayahan created the Provincial Task Group Delos Angeles under the supervision of Acting Provincial Director PSSupt Ronaldo R. Cabral to focus and intensify the investigation on the disappearance of Delos Angeles.

Delos Angeles, 39 years old, single, resident of Alegre St., Brgy. Burabod, Sorsogon City, was reported missing by his father, Benjamin Delos Angeles on May 4, 2016 at around 4:30PM. The father’s report to Sorsogon CPS said that his son left their house on May 2, 2016 at around 11:00PM on board a Honda Dash 110, plate no. 5834-ET, to talk to a certain Flores of undisclosed place. However, his son failed to return to their house until the time of reporting.

“We have already exerted efforts to locate his whereabouts by asking some friends and co-workers but no one knows his exact location. Moreover, his driven motorcycle can no longer be found and his contact numbers can no longer be reached,” the father said.

The cadaver of the victim was brought to a funeral parlor in the city for autopsy.

The said minors were referred to CSWD, Sorsogon City for proper disposition while appropriate case is being prepared by Sorsogon CPS against the suspects. (MAL/BAR-PIA5/Sorsogon)
