LEGAZPI CITY, Apr 15 (PIA) – The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Office 5 will be leading the peace forum for congressional candidates in the province of Albay.
The discussion dubbed Usapang Kapayapaan: A forum for congressional candidates will be conducted in five areas nationwide particularly La Union, Legazpi City in Albay, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro and Davao City in April this year.
“In this forum each candidate will elaborate on their stand on peace concerns in Mindanao, and how they will affirm this in their legislative agenda if they would be elected in office,” PIA Bicol director Aida Alcazar-Naz said.
In the said forum, a panel composed of three members from the media representing print, radio and television will be asking questions along with panel of reactors from the OPAPP and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
“Invited to represent OPAPP is the Government of the Philippines Chief Negotiator Professor Miriam Coronel-Ferrer and Mr. Mohagher Iqbal of the MILF,” Naz said
The forum for Legazpi City is set 1:00PM on April 19, 2016 at the Bicol University College of Education Training Hall.
The audience and participants of the forum are sectoral representatives from the media, youth, business, civil society groups, religious, academe, senior citizens, Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police.(SAA-PIA5/Albay)
