PRC calls on support, participation of populace to Million Volunteer Run 3

VIRAC, Catanduanes, Jan. 25, (PIA) -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is calling on the populace to support and participate in the Million Volunteer Run 3 (MVR3) set on February 6, 2016 with the theme: “Run for Humanity”.

The MVR3 will also be held simultaneous with other running events in Metro Manila and across the country.

The activity was organized by PRC National Headquarter and its chapter nationwide, and is expected to be a major fund-raising and volunteer generation initiative of the PRC.

According to Reymond Reginaldo, PRC Catanduanes chapter administrator, they intend to make the MVRs the largest event of its kind in the world, thus demonstrating that the Philippines lead in championing the spirit of volunteerism.

He added that the event intends to show that the country is deeply committed to mobilize humanitarian action as means of saving lives.

He said that the theme: “Run for Humanity” would like to emphasize what Red Cross volunteers actually do every day.

The PRC is seeking partners from different sectors of the society who are committed to similar values, and who can support not just our projects but also the spirit behind these.

Registration fee is P400 inclusive of a singlet, race bib, and race map and finisher certificate.

PRC has 189 chapters nationwide with 6 million target runners. (MAL/EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
