NAGA CITY, May 4 (PIA) --- A more vibrant economic activity envisioned to provide more job opportunities and better life for the constituents of Partido district is now within reach after the 270-km national roads, comprising the arterial and secondary roads are finally completed.

In his report during the Partido Development Authority (PDA) Regular board meeting held here recently, Camarines Sur 4th District Representative Felix William "Wimpy" Fuentebella announced that the longest span of national road network in the Bicol Region is 97 percent accomplished and is ready for travellers and investors.

The highway includes the 92-km road from Lagonoy to Presentacion, Garchitorena and Caramoan, including the picturesque alternate route leading to Albay via Pili, Ocampo, Tigaon & Sagñay, known as Partido Riviera.  These smoothly-paved roads will make it easier for travellers and road-trippers, including domestic and foreign tourists to reach the beautiful beaches and islands of Caramoan which are frequently visited during the summer season.

Also completed is the 24-km Goa-Tinambac Road, opening the gates of the commercial & educational hub of Partido to the town of Tinambac; and the Goa Mountain Circumferential Road (Balaynan-Tabgon-Lamon-Maysalay-Pinamihagan-San Isidro West).

The once dusty and grubby road leading to the Tinambac-Tamban road has also been completed after the 14-km course was paved including the 1.5-km Sagñay-Nato Road. These, together with other thoroughfares traversing the San Rafael-Mampirao-San Jose Road, Lagonoy-Presentacion roads, Presentacion-Maligaya roads, Teres-Garchitorena roads in the adjoining areas have also been completed.

The arterial roads completed covering the various sections completing the Tigaon-Goa-San Jose-Lagonoy via San Vicente road totaled to 102.416km while the secondary roads covered a 167.886-kilometer stretch. This infra accomplishment will benefit the constituents of Tigaon, Sagñay,Goa, San Jose, Lagonoy, Presentacion, Caramoan, Garchitorena, Tinambac and Siruma.

Of the 39 kilometers concreting works at the Siruma-Tinambac Road, only 7 km is left to be completed in 2016.

“We are now inviting the private sectors on what is the next step because Caramoan can now be reached by your car, also Siruma and far-flung barangays of Goa, Tinambac and Garchitorena. These areas will now have an economic boom after these important infrastructure projects were completed.  We are ready and that is what we are trying to tell everyone,” the young Fuentebella added.

The young solon also gave credit to the administration of President Benigno Aquino III for realizing their long- time dream of giving the constituents of the Partido district their much-deserved development. He also thanked the Senate and his House colleagues for the legislative and budgetary support; DPWH Sec. Singson, DOE Sec. Petilla, NEA GM Bueno, CASURECO IV, the Partido Development Administration and the people of Partido.

“Let us give the credit to whom the credit is due.  Our efforts finally paid off after declaring some of the road as national road. Partido is the richest district in Camarines Sur. Its wealth is its abundant natural resources and its hardworking people. Siruma is where the country's finest white clay can be found. Easy access to these areas will really lead us into becoming one of the economic hubs in the years to come.”

Fuentebella also announced that after the completion of the national road, they will now pursue the commencement of what they tagged as the “road for peace”.  These are roads located in conflict areas where transportation and local economic activity is nil due to the bad terrain. A P300M budget has been allocated for the said endeavor.

"I am looking at a new prospect for renewed vigor for the growth of Partido with the current development in the institutions we've helped to build", Fuentebella said in closing. (LSMacatangay, PIAV/Camarines Sur)
