Legazpi City, AKO Bikol send personnel for operation ‘Tulong’ mission to Tacloban City

LEGAZPI CITY, Nov. 13 (PIA) -- Sixteen Legazpi City government employees and 16 Ako Bikol Party-list personnel left for Tacloban City on Tuesday to held conduct clearing operations in the areas devastated by super typhoon “Yolanda” on Friday, Mayor Noel Rosal said in an interview.

The team left at exactly 4 a.m. Tuesday in convoy of five dump trucks, one fuel tanker, one tractor with loaded trailer and pay loader and four vans.

City administrator Wilfredo “Pecos” Intia led the city humanitarian team that is composed of men from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, City Engineering Office, Solid Waste Management Office and Ako Bikol.

Intia said the team will stay in Tacloban City for 10-12 days to help in the clearing operations in the areas destroyed by the deadly typhoon.

The group will also distribute rice, drinking water, noodles, canned goods, medicines and used clothing as part of the help of the city government of Legazpi to the surviving victims.

Rosal and Vice Mayor Vitoy Roces will also go to areas affected by typhoon any time this week to monitor the clearing operations of the team.  (MAL/EPSolis-CGLegazpi/PIA5)
