PILI, Camarines Sur, Nov. 14 (PIA) --- The spirit of bayanihan and volunteerism reel on as various local government units and private organizations here in Camarines Sur join hands in collecting funds and other in-kind donation to be given to the needy families who survived the wrath of TS Yolanda.
Pili Mayor Alexis San Luis, just a few days after clearing his town first and after ensuring that his constituents who evacuated have already returned to their homes, immediately set up a donation booth at the capital town’s downtown area to gather used clothing, canned goods, bottled water and other in-kind donations intended to be delivered in Tacloban anytime soon this week.
Dubbed “Tacloban, Tabangan”, (Let us Help Tacloban), San Luis with the assistance of Pili Vice Mayor Nong Regondola and members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Pili, also partnered with the 9th ID Civil Military Operations (CMO) Battalion, ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya, RMN DWNX, Bikolano Para sa Pilipino, Unibersidad de Sta. Isabel, Land Transportation Office Region V, Standard Insurance, Camarines Sur Medical Society and other private organizations to gather as many donations to ensure that help and assistance will be enough for those families in Tacloban who until now cry for food as their immediate need.
LGU Pili also launched “Dyes Mo para sa Biktima kan Bagyo,” to sustain their fund drive and solicit even a meager amount from nameless donors.
“I am appealing to all of my constituents here in Pili and to the adjacent municipalities, organizations, or even individuals to support this cause. Let us help our brothers and sisters in Tacloban who are in dire need today, especially for food and water. Let us join hands and find strength in this unfortunate time,” San Luis added.
On Tuesday, Gawad Kalinga-Camarines Sur Provincial office, in cooperation with the City government of Naga and the Congressional Office of 3rd District Congresswoman Leni Robredo also launched the same appeal, particularly for the people of Samar and Leyte. Repacking of goods continues at the Tabuco Elementary School. A 10-wheeler truck will gather the goods and will leave Naga on November 19.

Aside from this appeal, the chapter also announced that they offer Tracing Service for those families who want to know the whereabouts of the other members of their family who are still missing up to this time.
