Arrest drug dealer, recovery of P405 T worth of shabu boost PDEA's anti drug campaign in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY, Aug. 28 (PIA) – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional office here arrested one female suspect and P405,000 worth of  methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” yesterday, August 27 in Barangay 23, this city boosting the agency’s relentless anti-narcotic campaign in the region.

In a press statement, PDEA Bicol regional director Archie A Grande said the agency will continue to step up campaign to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs and traders  to the extent of ensuring local communities drug-free.

PDEA Bicol operatives identified the suspect as Jamilah Lindas y Ampuan, also known as JM, female, 27 years old resident of B-25, Lot 1Sultan Esmael, Dasmarinas Cavite.

The suspect is believed to be is connected with the group of personalities sourcing illegal drugs from Cavite area and supplying the provinces of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Albay.

Grande narrated that after several weeks of surveillance and case build-up, the agency’s Regional Special Enforcement Team carried out the buy-bust operation at 2:00 in the afternoon in the room 203 of the Sampaguita Tourist Inn here.

RSET operatives confiscated one (1) piece of big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” weighing more or less 75 grams with an estimated value of Php 405,000.00, one (1) off-white teddy bear used to hide the drug evidence, four (4) bundles of boodle money, four (4) pieces Php500 bills and one (1) unit Nokia cellular phone.

The suspect is currently placed under the custody of PDEA Bicol jail facility while a case for violation of Section 5 (Sale) of Article II of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 has been readied for filing in court.  (MAL-PIA5/Albay/PDEA)
