Elected provincial officials to take oath of office

VIRAC, Catanduanes, June 28 (PIA) -- Justice Jose Portugal Perez of the Supreme Court of the Philippines will induct the newly elected officials of Catanduanes on June 30 at the Virac Plaza Rizal this province.

According to Cong. Cesar V. Sarmiento of the lone district of Catanduanes, the Justice will be accompanied by Deputy Court Administrator Ruel Villanueva.

The oath-taking ceremonies will start with a Eucharistic Mass at Virac Cathedral to be celebrated by Diocese of Virac Bishop Manolo A. Delos Santos.

The oath of office will be handed to the newly elected officials at 12 noon which also signals the end of term of the outgoing officials.
Governor-elect Araceli B. Wong, Cong. Sarmiento and Vice-Governor Jose J. Teves Jr., Virac Mayor-elect Flerida Alberto along with the elected municipal officials will then take their oath of office consecutively.

This will be followed by the Congressman’s Night to be held on the evening where everyone is invited for a “salo-salo (party)."

Meanwhile, on July 1, Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s (SP) first session will take place where the newly-elected governor will deliver her inaugural address.

Expected to attend the ceremony are different government agencies, non-government organizations and as well as the public.

A party for the public will also be held on the evening of July 1 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds which will feature a live band and fireworks display. (MAL/EAB/PIA5, Catanduanes)
