DepEd trains Grade 8 teachers in English and Araling Panlipunan for K to 12

LEGAZPI CITY, May 22 (PIA) -- The Department of Education (DepEd) in Bicol recently led the Regional Mass Training for Grade 8 teachers in the fields of English and Araling Panlipunan under the K to 12 program in this city.

At least 265 teachers from public schools in the province of Masbate, city schools divisions of Masbate City and Tabaco City Division were among the participants of the first of a series of mass trainings.

The 148 participants trained in the English subject while 117 in Araling Panlipunan.

The training was divided into eight learning areas, including Mathematics, Technology and Livelihood Education, English, Araling Panlipunan, Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH), Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao, Science, and Filipino.

Each learning area has a five-day training wherein the mass training for English and Araling Panlipunan took place last May 15-19.

Trainors were composed of education program supervisors, division coordinators and key teachers who are members of the regional training team.

K-12 program sums up primary and secondary education, which involves Kindergarten, six years of elementary education, four years of junior high school (Grades 7 to 10) and two years of senior high school (Grades 11 to 12). (MAL/MZEser-OJT-BU/PIA)
