Today, could be just another day of his usual routine but 2 gunshots from a caliber 9mm at his back ended his life and silenced him forever for whatever truth he still wants to convey to his listeners. Olea was also DWEB’s News Director.

Mr. Jing Florece, DWEB Acting Station Manager described Olea as a hardworker, industrious, and a silent type employee who has shown his dedication to work. Florece said that Olea can already be considered as a seasoned mediaman, having served as a reporter in various media outlets in Camarines Sur like DWIR in Iriga City , FBN DZGE, Bombo Radyo and DWSS among others while keeping his passion in writing as a correspondent of Bicol Mail.

Florece also added that Olea already have the premonition of what is about to befell him. The 20- year old eldest son of Olea told him that weeks ago, Olea had been talking to him and to his younger brother telling them to be good and be responsible should anything happen to him. Olea, it was learned had been receiving death threats arising from his commentaries directed towards some influential bigwigs that Florece declined to name.

Olea was the second DWEB Employee who fell prey to the long list of media killings. His colleague, Mike Belen, who was shot dead last year will be commemorating his first death anniversary this coming July 31.
