VIRAC, Catanduanes, Feb. 13, (PIA)- Viga municipal government has allocated some P250,000.00 for training of youths in technical-vocational course in support of the programs of the local government to provide livelihood opportunities for the town's populace,
Viga Mayor Gordon S. Olfindo said that the funding was requested through a resolution sponsored by Municipal councilor Rolando Turrocha, consequently, approved by the Sangguniang Bayan to grant financial assistance to the initiatives
He said that the amount will serve as financial assistance to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in its operation of the Panganiban-Viga-Bagamanoc (PAVIBA) Training Center in Viga.
Meanwhile, TESDA-Cabugao administrator Elpidio Tuboro said that enrolees are only required to bring with them their Form 137, ENCAE, birth certificate, three passport-size photos, two 1x1 photos, and barangay clearance for out-of-school youths.
The courses now being offered at PAVIBA are Commercial Cooking NC II, Foods and Beverage Services NC II, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Carpentry NC II, Massage Therapy NC II, Construction Painting NC II, and Food Processing NC II.
Tuburo also thanked LGU Viga for the support saying that this will be a great help to not only to the beneficiaries but to the province as a whole. (MAL/EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
