VIRAC, Catanduanes, Feb. 13, (PIA) - The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) here will conduct a general orientation and workshop for barangay officials as part of the Barangay Newly-Elected Officials (BNEO) Program.
BNEO Program is a term based capacity development program of the department in its continuing effort to enhance the proficiency of barangay officials in performing their mandated tasks and responsibilities.
The circular sent by DILG provincial director Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober Jr. states that DILG will be implementing the program this 1st semester of 2014.
The activity aims to equip barangay officials with the needed organizational knowledge, skills and attitudes to formulate their respective Barangay Agenda for Governance and Development (BAGAD) and Barangay Capacity Development Agenda (CAPDEV).
To ensure maximum participation and quality workshop outputs, the activity will be held by batch/cluster in three days where the Liga ng mga Barangay is responsible in choosing the appropriate venue.
Participants in the activity are punong barangays, Sangguniang barangay members, barangay secretaries and barangay treasurers. (MAL/EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
