545 passengers, 10 vehicles stranded at Tabaco port due Typhoon ‘Labuyo’—PDRRMC

VIRAC, Catanduanes, August 12 (PIA) -- Around 545 passengers and ten vehicles were stranded in Tabaco Port in Bicol yesterday due to typhoon “Labuyo”.

A total of 545 individuals, 3 buses, 5 trucks and 2 private cars bound for San Andres and Virac ports were stranded since Saturday in Tabaco port. Reports also bared that five vehicles were stranded in San Andres Port bound to Tabaco.

According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) which convened early yesterday headed by Governor Araceli B. Wong, stranded passengers were provided food assistance by the provincial government of Catanduanes.

Public Storm Warning Signal #3 where winds of 101-185 kph were raised over Catanduanes, Camarines Provinces, Northern Quezon, Province including Polilio Island, Aurora and Isabela.

PDRRMC has also advised the Municipal and Barangay Risk Reduction and Management Councils in the different towns of the province to stay on alert for possible rescue and evacuations in case the typhoon change its course. (EAB/ PIA Catanduanes)
