DAET, Camarines Norte, July 18 (PIA) -- Seven local government units (LGUs) in Camarines Norte received incentives under the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to augment funding for infrastructure projects in their respective areas.
LGUs that pass the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) receive the PCH which is an incentive to fund local government projects under their Annual Investment Program (AIP).
The first round of PCF incentives were given to the fourth to fifth class municipalities namely San Lorenzo Ruiz, San Vicente, and Talisay while the second batch was given to the first to third class municipalities of Basud, Daet, Jose Panganiban, and Labo said Edwin Garcia DILG Camarines Norte provincial director.
Among the fourth and fifth class municipalities, the projects implemented were the following: slaughterhouse Phase I amounting to P500,000; rehabilitation of water system for P600,000; asphalting of 4mx500 farm-to-market road in barangays Dagotdotan and Langga with P250,000; construction of Asdum Bridge for P1 million; improvement of San Vicente Agro-Cultural and Sports Complex (SVACSC) with P800,000; development of municipal nursery with P200,000 in San Vicente; construction of birthing facility worth P700,000; rehabilitation of farm-to- market road with P200,000; and construction of processing center and office of bamboo buy products P100,000 in Talisay.
For the second batch, the projects implemented were the following: construction of waterways for to P2 millionin Basud; construction of rural health unit in barangays Lag-on, Daet worth P1 million; and concreting of farm-to-market road in Barangay Malasugui worth P1 million in Labo.
The projects were funded in 2011 and implemented last year and early this year.
The said infrastructure projects benefit farmers specially livestock growers and local residents of the said towns.
Garcia added that the remaining five LGUs that received the Seal of Good Housekeeping are also slated to receive PCF incentives from the DILG. (MAL/RBM/PIA5, Camarines Norte)
