San Jose commends outstanding taxpayers

NAGA CITY, Dec. 14 (PIA) -- The municipal government San Jose has commended individuals and business institutions for paying their taxes religiously and adhering to the tax campaign of government.

San Jose Mayor Antonio Chaves said that for this year, seven individuals and three business owners comprised the Top Ten Outstanding Taxpayers for 2012. Jose Dellova Delloro and Wilfredo Apetrior Pervera top the list of those who have been religiously paying taxes for the past 20 years.

Salvador Rentoria came close with 18 years of regular tax payment which started in 1995 until the current year. Couple Rufino Ramirez Pasa and Paz Pena Paza, shared 16 years of dutifully paying their taxes with Fe Pasit and Melanie B. Picache.

Herminia Tuazon from Danlog, San Jose has also completed 12 years of religiously paying her tax. Danlog together with the above mentioned tax payers were not able to incur arrears in paying their taxes for the past years and has availed 20 percent discount deducted from heir taxable income as part of the LGU’s incentive.

Among the businesses in the said municipality, the Rural Bank of San Jose also received commendation for its 20 years of dutiful payment of taxes. Three businessmen were also given praises for not sleeping on their tax obligations: Milagros Penas Cledera of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Tomas Obias of Barangay Danlog, and Concepcion Sy Crescini from Barangay San Juan, all from the town of Sangay.

Chaves extended his gratitude to the awardees, not only for helping the local government raise more funds for its coffers but for being responsible and compliant of their obligations as citizens and members of the community.

Last year, Mayor Chavez’ administration was cited by the Bureau of Local of Local Government Finance for ranking first among 4th Class municipalities in the region for its outstanding performance and efficiency in income collection from economic enterprises. (MAL/LSM-PIA5, Camarines Sur)
