DAET, Camarines Norte, Aug. 23 (PIA) – The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) has allocated more than P7.1 million for the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) and Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) for the second semester of 2016 in Camarines Norte province
TESDA Camarines Norte provincial director Conrado E. Maranan, Jr. said that of the amount, more than P5.7 was allocated for the TWSP while P1.4 M was allocated for the PESFA.
A total of 805 students benefited for the TWSP which will be provided with training cost and free competency assessment by the TESDA.
Among the qualification titles for the TWSP are Trainer’s Methodology Level I, Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing II, Electronics Products Assembly Servicing II, Computer System Servicing II, Automotive Servicing NC I, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I, Visual Graphics Design NC III, 2D Animation NC III, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Tourism Promotion Services NC II, Front Office Services NC II and Housekeeping NC II.
Meanwhile for PESFA, 148 slots were given to scholars who will be provided with the training cost, allowance per day, free competency assessment and book allowance.
Among the qualification titles for the PESFA are Computer System Servicing NC II, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Electronic Products Assembly Servicing NC II and Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I.
There are 17 accredited schools for the TWSP and 5 schools for PESFA within the province.
The beneficiaries who availed of the scholarship programs have passed the qualifications set by the TESDA.
Maranan said that those who passed the competency assessment can work local and abroad.
