DAET, Camarines Norte, Aug. 18 (PIA) - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) provincial office here har urged companies and establishments to implement measures to esure workers’ rights to security of tenure aligned with the provisions of the Labor Code and policy directives of the agency.
DOLE Camarines Norte provincial head Jane Rolda said that this is in line with campaign of the government on the End of Contract (ENDO) wherein Secretary Silvestre Bello III has already issued directives on the prohibition against labor-only contracting and suspending registration of new applicants as contractors or sub-contractors.
She said that the government is targeting at least 50% may be reduced within this year for job contracts and be removed by 2017.
She said this may be done through their regular assessment of establishments and or companies in their labor standards compliance.
This was said during the unveiling of the DOLE Region V hotline (0918) 3096665 recently held at the Wiltan Hotel here.
This was in line with the simultaneous press conference launching of the hotline throughout the region.
She said that any individual can text or call the said number if they have job related queries and will be acted in 10 minutes for simple queries and 24 hours for those needs validation.
She said that during validation they will evaluate companies if they are labor law compliance and may encourage them if they can absorb their employees in their establishments. (MAL/RBM-PIAV/Camarines Norte)
