LEGAZPI CITY, June 22 (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bicol regional office goes “full speed” in its efforts to assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and local consumers with the launch of the “Negosyo, Konsyumer at Iba Pa” (NKATBP).
Also dubbed as “One DTI Services”, the NKATBP brings together all of DTIs services under one roof, for easier accessibility by the local businesses and citizenry. It is a two to five-day activity that will run in all regions of the country from April to December of 2016.
For the Bicol region, the NKATBP will be held in Albay Astrodome in this city from June 23 to 25. So far, the NKATBP in the Bicol region is the sixth of the same event to be hosted this year.
The NKATBP aims on bringing focused and integrated DTI services to the public, in order to benefit industries and consumers. It also part of the effort of heightening people’s awareness on these services offered by the department.
For the consumers, the activities offer packages of service to raise public awareness of ‘consumer’s rights’ and knowledge on the quality of products and services. All activities are specified to strengthen the “ramdam effect” among DTI’s stakeholders.
Regarding business development concerns, the menu of services include enabling of business environment, access to finance, access to market, and efficient productivity. MSMEs are expected to benefit on the event through an integrated delivery of various assistance being extended by different DTI units.
Throughout its three-day duration, the NKATBP will be hosting entrepreneurship sessions, knowledge and empowerment lectures, business consultations and counseling, photo exhibits, and the Bicol’s Best Trade Fair.
The event will also host the launching of commercial development projects, including DTI’s Negosyo Center and the Fabrication Laboratory at Bicol University.
For DTI-5, the NKATBP serves as a major strategic move in their continuing drive for consumer and business development in the Bicol region. Showing the department’s full dedication to this cause, DTI Secretary Adrian Cristobal and Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya will be in attendance to address the stakeholders.
“We want the public to know that we (DTI) want to reach out and help,” said DTI-5 regional director Jocelyn Blanco. “We (DTI-5), for the entrepreneurs and consumers, only have their best interest at heart,” she added. (MAL/JBE/PIA5)
