VIRAC, Catanduanes, Sept. 10 (PIA) - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) provincial office here will spearhead a Forum on Tourism Industry Development on September 22 to help promote continuous growth and harness the potentials of the tourism-industry in the province.
Russel Ulysses Nieves, DOLE Catanduanes chief, said the forum is pursuant to DOLE’s mandate on Tripartism and the commitment of Catanduanes Inter-Agency Committee on Tourism Industry.
He said that participants are toruism-related establishments, Techinical-Vocational Institutions (TVIs) offering tourism-related courses, transport groups, Local Chief Executives and respective Municipal Tourism Officers.
Topics up for discussion are Tourism landscape; Employment and Investments Bets practices on Tourism Industry; Equipping/improvement of shiles in the tourism industry; Retooling of crews, staff, personnel and Introduction in TVIs of the Events Management and Promotion Cause;
Investment incentives on tourism-related projects; Fnancing windows for tourism; Small business corporation; Organization of Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) on the tourism industry; and the Presentation and signing of Voluntary Code of Good Practices in the Tourism Industry.
Speakers will come from various agencies and departments in Catanduanes.
The activity is also in coordination with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes and partner agencies. (MAL/EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
