LEGAZPI CITY, Aug. 17 (PIA) - A Japanese firm has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Bicol regional office to provide trainings and opportunities for employment to beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps)
Bicol regional directo Arnel Garcia of DSWD regional director said the Japanese firm, Aderans Philippines Inc., has forged partnership deal with DSWD for the employment of workers belonging to families presently enrolled with the government’s 4Ps in factory and community based wig production.
According to Garcia, a total of 500 4Ps beneficiaries ages 17-25 years old from Libmanan, Minalabac and other nearby municipalities in Camarines Sur will benefit from the said partnership.
The employement arrangement is part of DSWD’s transition plan in order to assure that the current socio-economic conditions of 4Ps beneficiaries will be sustained and continue to improve.
Garcia, along with DSWD Bicol assistant regional director for operations Corazon Miña, signed the MOU with Aderans Philippines Inc. director and general manager Masao Kaneko , assistant general manager Norio Asakawa and the subcontractor Anando Marketing & Services led by company treasurer Evangeline Anastacio.
Garcia recognized the aptitude of the business sectors to provide employment and enterprise development for the disadvantaged, particularly the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries.
The 4Ps is a poverty reduction and social development strategy of the national government that provides conditional cash grants to extremely poor households to improve their health, nutrition and education particularly of children aged 0-14.
Meanwhile, DSWD will fund P4.5 million for the food and transportation of the participants in their 30 days training on wig making.
The Anando Marketing & Services whose engaged in the business of trading, marketing, repairs and sub-contracting of personal goods such as wigs and make-up will conduct the technical/skills training to the DSWD referred participants.
While, Aderans Philippines Inc. a manufacturer and world wide exporter of hairpieces and related accessories will provide employment to the DSWD beneficiaries after they undergone training. The company operates in Clarkfield Pampanga and the head office is based at Tokyo, Japan. MAL-PIA5/Albay)
