BY: ANA-LIZA S. MACATANGAY

NAGA CITY, March 10 (PIA) --- The police provincial office in Camarines Sur has sworn in over the week end the new officers and members of the Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) that will guide and assist police organization in translating statements of good governance into concrete actions.

Department of Education (DepEd) Camarines Sur division superintendent Dr. Gilbert Sadsad and Augusting C. Camo, dean of Camo College in Pili, Camarines Sur were elected as PAC chair and vice chair, respectively.

Other members of the PAC include Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Camarines Sur officer in charge Ana-Liza S. Macatangay; Camarines Sur executive assistant Secretary Pol Maleniza; Camarines Sur vice governor Fortunato Pena; St. Raphael the Archangel parish priest Fr. Louan Jarcia; Lighthouse Christian Community lead Pastor Rodel Lopez; Camarines Sur 5th district  provincial board member Rudito Espiritu; prosecutors Richard T. Cu and Ramiro Alfredo Cabral, both  from the Provincial Prosecution Office; Dr. Menting Ramos, Cam Sur PPO Press Corps president Jojo Buenafrancisca, DWRB anchorman Pax Rengalota, Civil Service Commission (CSC) Camarines Sur provincial director Jocelyn Marifosque and Engr. Solomon Ngo, chair of the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

P/SSupt. Ramiro Mendenilla-Bausa, PNP Camarines Sur acting provincial director, stated that PAC is composed of heads of various institutions to serve as their partners in formulating policies and guidelines for the greater benefit of the community.

“In our journey towards social transformation, as mandated under our PNP P.A.T.R.O.L  (Peace and order Agenda for Transformation and upholding the Rule of Law) Plan, we need stakeholders who will join us in realizing our goal.  And, PAC officers and members will serve as our partners to better serve the members of our community and ensure their safety at all times,” Bausa added.

PNP has already laid down the blue print to transform their organization into a more capable, effective and credible police force in the country.

The police organization's journey towards the realization of these goals have already started way back 2009 when they were selected by the Office of the President, along with six (6) government agencies to take part in the Millennium Challenge Corporation compact agreement through the adoption of the balanced score card.

These involve adherence to best practices in resolving crimes and conflicts in different parts of the country through strategic management system and converting communication tools into viable instruments in attaining peace and order in the countryside.

Bausa said that with the help of stakeholders, PNP’s adoption of the Performance Government System (PGS) will be much easier.

“The members of the council will have a significant role in checking whether we are in the right path of achieving our goals. They, together with the members of the civil society will serve as our mentors in the realization of these dreams,” Bausa stated.  (MAL/LSM-PIA5/CamSur)
