DAET, Camarines Norte, March 5 (PIA) – Some P36M worth of farm to market road projects was endorsed by the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) to the Department of Agriculture (DA) for funding allocation under the PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNan (Pamana) for 2014.
Governor Edgardo Tallado, chair of the PPOC Camarines Norte, said projects identified include the upgrading and rehabilitation of 3.0 kilometers farm to market road at Villa Aurora in the town of Capalonga amounting to P21 million; and concreting of 2.14 kilometers of Matacong, San Isidro, San Ramon and Salvacion roads of San Lorenzo Ruiz town amounting to P15M.
It can be recalled that some P81 M worth of projects of the Pamanaalso this year was already allocated by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) was tackled during the two (2) day Workshop on Local Peace and Development Planning held recently here.
The projects to be funded by the DILG were formally endorsed by the PPOC during the said meeting.
The Pamana projects have started in this province in 2011 funded by the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP). In 2012 the projects were funded by the DILG while in 2013 projects were provided by the DILG, DA and National Irrigation Office with 10 percent counterpart from the provincial government.
Pamana pursues community resiliency, that converged peace-building projects focused on the development of conflict-affected areas and vulnerable communities. The province is one of the recipients of the said program of the OPAPP.
The provincial government of Camarines Norte spearheads the implementation of the PAMANA projects in cooperation with the local government units of the concerned towns and the barangays.(MAL/RBM-PIA5/CamNorte)
