DAET, Camarines Norte, Jan 14 (PIA) – The municipal government unit of Daet has launched recently the Search for Ten Outstanding Women 2013 to give recognition to women who have manifested exemplary performance in their fields of profession that significantly contributed to local development.
Mayor Tito Sarion of this town said that the search is also in preparation for the 2014 National Women’s Month Celebration on the coming month of March wherein the awardees will be given recognition.
He said that the search is open to all women of legal age, residing in the municipality of Daet, must be a member or officer of an organization or a person who has made significant accomplishments in a particular field of endeavor which contributed to the welfare and upliftment of status of women in particular and in the promotion of gender fair society in general.
The search for the Ten Outstanding Women of 2013 is also in line with the theme “Kababaihan: Gabay sa Pagtahak sa Tuwid na Daan”.
The nominations shall be based according to their respective profession of endeavor namely: judiciary; protective services and security; religion; professional services; education, sports, arts and culture; science and math technology; entrepreneurship; media; public information and journalism; NGO and civic organizations; social services and volunteerism; persons with disability; government service and philanthropic works.
The criteria for judging are: leadership – 20%, the ability to lead, inspire and enable others towards the goal; commitment – 20%, the number of years in the organization, dedication and sustainability of the advocacy; women empowerment – 30%, the remarkable accomplishment that has major towards a gender fair society; and community and civic involvement – 30%, remarkable accomplishments that has major impacts to Daeteño.
The application forms are available at the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of the municipality of Daet and the deadline of submission of applications will be on January 31, 2014. (RBM-PIA5/Camarines Norte)
