VIRAC, Catanduanes, Oct. 7 (PIA) -- The National Statistics Office (NSO) provicial office here is soliciting the support and cooperation of the stakeholders in the surveys and census as such is very essential to the agency's endeavors to provide a comprehensive set of statistical information in various fields.
NSO Catanduanes officer in charge Anavi F. Camacho said the office, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office here, will be conducting anew the 2012 Input-Output Survey of Philippine Business and Industry to provide a comprehensive set of statistical information to build an input structure and to construct a distribution of output of business and industries in the country.
Initially, according to Camacho, NSO and DTI spearheaded a Stakeholders Forum on September 27 to present and provide a comprehensive data appreciation for 2012 Listing of Establishment, survey background and objectives for conducting 2012 IOSPBI
"The forum also tacled the legal authority of the conduct of establishment-based surveys and censuses and guides the participants on how to fill up the questionnaire for 2012 IOSPBI," she added.
DTI Catanduanes officer in charge Heginio A. Baldano meanwhile discussed the importance of establishment-based statistics in the economy, noting that the 2012 IOSPBI will generate the data to produce the 2012 input-output table of the Philippines that is useful in analyzing quantitatively the structure and interdependencies of producing and consuming sectors of the economy.
