PPP pursues programs on livelihood, scholarship in Daet

DAET, Camarines Norte, Sept. 4 (PIA) – The municipal government here and the Calata Corporation signed and entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that provides for programs on livelihood assistance and scholarship of the children of farmers in this town.

Mayor Tito Sarion and Calata Corporation chairman and chief executive officer Joseph Calata inked the MOA during the “2013 Daet Business Forum” held here Saturday, Aug. 31.

Sarion said that the forum was conducted to strengthen businesses in the town based on the theme “Sustaining Inclusive Growth in Business Environment”.

Calata Corporation is one of the biggest distributer of feeds for animals in the country who started as a small business and now has stocks of P2B in the country.

Sarion added the corporation, aside from the livelihood assistance and scholarships for the children of farmers, will also provide free seminars for budding entrepreneurs and businessmen of this town.

He said that this programs and prospects for the town added on to the government's efforts that made Daet the fourth among most competitive municipalities in the country named by the National Competitive Council (NCC).

We all wished and continued to excel in the the same endeavor.

Bro. Michael Lobrin of the Go Negosyo and Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship Programs and Projects meanwhile said that we should not create more employees but rather create more businesses and should teach people to have an entrepreneurial mind.

He said that we need to be have a “sipag, tiyaga at diskarte” and trainings for our employees for the success of the business.

He said that the triumph of a business also should be based on a lifestyle and good corporate social responsibility.

Another business forum is set on September 13 for those would be investors for Daet which will be held at the Asian Institute of Management at Bienavidez, Makati City. (MAL/RBM-PIA5/Camarines Norte)
