DAET, Camarines Norte, July 11 (PIA) -- The Sta. Elena Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SEFMPC) and Basud Coconut and Pineapple Cooperative (BACOPICO) in this province recently received farm machineries from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) project.
SEFMPC and BACOPICO are the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) identified by DAR-Camarines Norte to benefit from the project in the province, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (PARO) Leonito Gaveria said.
ARCCESS aimed to reduced poverty by increasing the income of the ARBOs through the provision of facilities and the development of business skills, necessary for the management of their own enterprises.
Gaveria said that the SEFMPC is the beneficiary of the Enhanced Rice Production through Farm Mechanization under the ARCCESS.
The organization was granted one unit of combine harvester thresher worth P1.2 million; seven units of Kuliglig Hand Tractor worth P933,100; and one mechanical transplanter with one seed conveyor and (4,000) trays with total a cost of P816,000.
The said agri-machines were given during the turn-over ceremonies of ARCCESS and launching of the SEFMPC Micro-Finance Program held last March 26.
The BACOPICO of Barangay Laniton in Basud, Camarines Norte, on the other hand, is the beneficiary of the Coco-Coir Production and Marketing Project under ARCCESS which received one unit of fiber dryer in the amount of P1.68 million.
Another ARC beneficiary in Basud is the Caayunan Multi-Purpose Cooperative for the Enhanced Pineapple Production and Processing under ARCCESS. The said organization is soon to receive one unit of 4WD-Tractor and four units of upland tractor.
ARBOs are not only provided with the infrastructure they need but also with the necessary competencies needed in managing the infrastructure in the course of their enterprise development. (MAL/RBM/PIA5-Camarines Norte).
