COMELEC confirms first set of proclaimed winners in Camarines Sur

PILI, CAMARINES SUR, May 14 (PIA) --- A few hours after the final votes were counted and transmitted, ten municipalities in the province of Camarines Sur have already proclaimed their respective sets of winners.
This is also pursuant to COMELEC RESOLUTION 9700 which allows local boards to proclaim winners at the local race provided that it cannot adversely affect the results of the election.
These are the local government units of Cabusao, Ragay, San Fernando, Camaligan, Magarao, Ocampo, Pili, Garchitorena, Nabua and Milaor.
In Cabusao, incumbent Mayor Nebb Santiago was given another mandate to serve his constituents. The same was true to the incumbent Vice Mayor of the said town, Jonas Aguilar who will have another three years to serve Cabusao. Cabusao has 11, 105 registered voters.
Contenders Anthony Reyes and Malou Taguba, both newbies for the Mayoralty race in Milaor were not able to outshine incumbent Mayor Rogelio Flores of LGU Milaor and its town’s incumbent Vice Mayor Andre Hidalgo who were given another fresh mandates by the town’s 17,725 registered voters.
Other incumbent who were given another stretch of public service mandate include Mayor Ricky Aquino and Vice Mayor Thaddy Ramos of Ragay, Camarines Sur, Mayor Delia Simbulan and Vice Mayor Ramiro Felipe Fortuna of Nabua and Mayor Salvador SeƱar of Magarao, all from the province of Camarines Sur.
Newbies in the political arena includes the new Mayor of Pili, Alexis San Luis II and his running mate, Vice Mayor Rogelio Regondola, Mayor Marilou Hirose of Camaligan,Mayor Ricoy, Sarmiento of Garchitore and Mayor Corazon Olos of Ocampo, Camarines Sur.
Mayor Eugenio Lagasca Jr, incumbent Mayor of San Fernando, who will also be serving for the next three years has a new companion in the person of Vice Mayor Aristeo Ragay.
Other municipalities which have already transmitted 100 percent of their election returns include San Jose and Balatan in Camarines Sur. (LSM-PIA5/Camarines Sur)
Legazpi City newly-elected dads lead post election clean up drive
LEGAZPI CITY, May 14 (PIA) -- A day following election day Mayor-elect Noel E. Rosal and Vice Mayor-elect Vitorio Roces, along with the other reelected councilors and personnel of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, led the clean up drive to remove campaign posters and other election paraphernalia in the cityscape .
Rosal said the clean up activity signifies the pursuit of clean and good governance that the incoming administration wants to continue to render to the people of Legazpi.
He said the team will finish this clean up activity as soon as possible in preparation of the incoming conventions and other national gatherings to be held in this city this month and onwards.
The incoming city mayor also said that he wants to maintain the cleanliness of this city to encourage the entry of new investment and boost the already booming tourism industry of this city.
He pointed out that the present city administration under the care of his wife Mayor Gie Rosal was very popular in the advocacy and implementation of the “No Segregation-No Collection” policy in line with the city’s Solid Waste Management Program.
He vowed to continue this environmental care advocacy and practice to maintain the beautiful image of this city as a model local government unit in the implementation of the Solid Waste Management law.
He furthered that he will also focus exclusively pursuing economic development programs and initiatives to maintain this city as the stable, productive and profitable investment destination in the region. (MAL/MPSolis-LGU Legazpi City/PIA5)
8 towns in Camarines Norte transmitted results to COMELEC

DAET, Camarines Norte, May 14 (PIA) -- Eight out of the 12 municipalities of this province have transmitted the results for the national and local elections 2013 to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) this morning.
Provincial election supervisor Atty. Romeo Serrano said that the eight towns include Basud, Jose Panganiban, Paracale, Sta. Elena, Mercedes, San Lorenzo Ruiz, San Vicente and Talisay.
He said that the other four towns, Daet, Labo, Capalonga and Vinzons experienced delay due to the signal for the transmission from the precints to the municipal board of canvassers.
The provincial board of canvassers has resumed at 8:35 this morning after they have stopped at 12:00 midnight due to the delay of the transmission of election results.
A recess again was set at 12:00 noon this day and will resume at 3:00 in the afternoon to wait for the remaining 4 towns and to start the provincial canvassing.
This province has a total registered voters of 277,297 for the two (2) legislative districts from the 282 barangays. (RBM/PIA5-Camarines Norte).
