Comelec bares official list of voters for May 2013 elections

VIRAC, Catanduanes, Dec. 17 (PIA) -- A total of 163, 563 voters in Catanduanes are qualified to participate in the May 13, 2013 elections.
This was revealed by the Commission Elections (Comelec) provincial office last week after the list was verified and approved by the Election Registration Board.

The breakdown of voters per municipality are as follows: Bagamanoc, 7,422; Baras, 9,499; Bato, 13,508; Caramoran, 17,310; Gigmoto, 6,188; Pandan, 12,648; Panganiban, 6,973; San Andres, 24,450; San Miguel, 10,257; Viga, 13,817; and, Virac, 41,493.

According to Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Maria Aurea C. Bo-Bunao, there is a notable increase in the number of voters for 2013 by 6.67 percent, or 10,229, from the 153,334 in 2010.

She likewise urged voters’ to verify their names before the election day to avoid delay in the voting process.
