Visit Daet 2012 October activities slated

DAET, Camarines Norte, Oct. 11 (PIA) -- The municipal government here has lined-up activities for Visit Daet 2012 for the month of October this year.

Visit Daet 2012 includes activities lined-up every month to showcase products and the beautiful places of the town and the province in order to encouraged Daeteños and tourists to come and enjoy as a way to push the tourism industry here.

Daet Mayor Tito Sarion said that these include OKB Gayon Bicol Regional Trade Fair spearheaded by his office and the Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) today until October 7 at SM Megamall that showcases pili and pinya base products of the town.

A meeting on Friday will be conducted for the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC) to discuss children’s program, on Saturday will the Awarding of Outstanding Sr. Citizens and Sr. Citizens Chapter, on Tuesday the “Araw ni Manuel Conde” also known as Director Jun “Mr. Shooli” Urbano and the opening of the Cooperative Month.

Mayor Sarion said that on October 12 will be Bicol 2012 Regional Essay Writing Competition on the life of Sec. Jesse M. Robredo. The contest will be held in Camarines Norte in the morning and in Camarines Sur in the afternoon.

This will be followed by the meeting of the Municipal Development Council (MDC) to discuss the updates on the infrastructure projects like the Central Terminal, renovation of the Elevated plaza and others.

Other activities for the next days are the Synchronized Barangay Assembly Day, Gawad Kalinga Daet Enchanted Farm Commitment Ceremony, State of the Children Report for the Children’s Month Celebration, Pro-Daet River Day and 1st Daet Trike Expo.

This will be followed by the blessing of the Production Center of Water Lily in Barangay Lag-On, MMA Fight for Peace, Business Plan Competition and the blessing of the GK Enchanted Farm.

Also included in the activities is the visit of Mayor Sarion in Albay and Sorsogon in connection with the Bicol 2012 Essay Writing Competition on Oct. 26 to be held in the said provinces in the morning and afternoon.

There will be Knights of Rizal General Assembly, Barangay Public Safety Officer (BPSO) Pass and Review Parade and Awarding of Outstanding BPSO and BPSO Stations.

A Commemoration of the Erection of the First Rizal Monument in Daet through the launching of the Book on the First Rizal Monument will be held on Oct. 30 as the final activity of this year’s Visit Daet 2012 for this month. (MAL/RBM-PIA5/Camarines Norte)
