Legazpi City hailed as an outstanding city project monitoring committee
LEGAZPI CITY, July 14 (PIA) -- The project monitoring committee (PMC) of this city has been declared as one of the winners in the 2012 Search for Outstanding Local PMC.
Having been declared as awardee for four consecutive years by the Regional Development Council (RDC) of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) in Bicol, Legazpi City received the award together with Naga City for the city category and Sorsogon for the provincial category during the recently held RDC Full Council Meeting at NEDA V Estevez Hall.
The city’s PMC is headed by Albay Governor Joey Salceda.
According to NEDA V Director Romeo C. Escandor of the eight LPMCs, only three qualified for the award, having incurred the minimum 60 points. The rest of the contenders are Albay, Catanduanes, Masbate and Camarines Sur for provincial level and Minalabac, Camarines Sur for municipal level.
The evaluation conducted by the search secretariat committee is based on efficacy and results criteria.
The search for outstanding local PMC is initiated annually by the regional PMC to serve as initiative for local PMCs to actively undertake project monitoring activities and regular submission of monitoring reports. (MAL/SAA-PIA 5/Albay)
