The activity aims to offer business opportunities to would-be micro entrepreneurs in the province. It also tackled the latest trends and opportunities in franchising.
Thirty participants from Virac and neighboring municipalities attended the forum to explore the opportunities presented by the three companies invited by DTI.
The participants, which included former OFWs and their kin, were given a short lecture on “How to Start a Small Business” by the DTI before the three business presenters offered their product lines and services.
These three businesses were Direct Shopping, Inc. for home products; Max International for health products; and Personal Collection (from Legazpi City) for personal care and home products.
All three companies are into direct selling and marketing business scheme.
Rural Bank of Camalig, a financing institution, presented its loan windows that may be availed by the participants. Business guide booklets were also given away by DTI to aspiring entrepreneurs.
According to Ireneo Panti, DTI provincial director, the forum hopes to provide investment options to aspiring entrepreneurs as well as those already established considering the changes in the business industry, especially in the province. (MAL/EAB-PIA 5, Catanduanes)
