STATEMENT OF KBP ALBAY ON THE DEATH OF PIA DIRECTOR EDUARDO DE LEON

KBP Albay chapter joins the entire media community in Albay and in the whole Bicol region in mourning on the untimely demise of one of the pillars of Bicol's media industry Dir. Eduardo de Leon of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and Manila Bulletin.

KBP Albay deems his death as a big loss not only to Albay but to the entire Bicol media community as well.

During his media practice both in government and in private, Dir Ed was able to set modest example of being a responsible and professional mediaman and made meaningful contributions toward strengthening the media industry especially in the province of Albay.

In this time of grief, KBP Albay reiterates its commitment to continue what Dir Ed had started towards realization of his visions and aspirations for a high standard of professionalism especially among Albay's broadcast media practitioners.

Finally, KBP Albay is making an appeal to members of Albay tri-media to pay their last respect and pray for the eternal rest of a fallen colleague who helped institutionalize media profession and press freedom in the province.
