Competitiveness council bats for Public Private Partnership
LEGAZPI CITY, March 6 (PIA) -- The National Competitiveness Council (NCC) together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Regional Development Council (RDC) in Bicol, will stage the NCC Road Show dubbed, “Boosting Regional/Local Competitiveness through Public Private Partnership" on March 16, 2012 at La Piaza Hotel and Convention Center here.
Jocelyn L.B. Blanco, DTI V regional director, said that the activity hopes to initiate a meaningful dialogue with the private and public stakeholders and partners to mobilize their commitment and action to address the challenge of progressing towards improved national competitiveness.
The road show will be attended by provincial and local chief executives, business chamber heads, university/college administrators and deans, non-government organizations, small medium enterprises, and other relevant government agencies in the region.
It will commence with a discussion on “Boosting Local Competitiveness thru Public-Private Sector Partnership” by Mr. Guillermo Luz, NCC co-chair for private sector.
Albay Governor Joey Salceda will also impart his experience on the plans and programs implemented by the Bicol Competitiveness Council.
Live testing of the eTAILs, one of NCC’s Budget Transparency Projects will likewise be done.
Jocelyn Berango, DTI V Information Officer, added that one of the highlights for the said event is the presentation of the 2012 Online Survey Results on Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS) Program.
The customer satisfaction survey conducted by the NCC in partnership with the DTI and DILG from January 11 to February 10, 2012 seeks to gauge the progress of the government’s BPLS project which aims to streamline the business processes and licensing system for LGUs from various cities and municipalities.
