DALAGAN SA KADLAGAN... 21-Kilometer National Eco-Trail Running Competition for local and foreign runners to promote healthy lifestyle and community-based rural ecotourism; biodiversity conservation and advocacy in-line with the partnership of LGU Bulusan-AGAP Bulusan, Inc.’s PRESERVE BVNP and National Greening Program (NGP) to reforest 80 hectares of denuded watershed area in the Bulusan Volcano Natural Park (BVNP). The event highlights Sorsogon Province, the Bicol Region and the Philippines’ participation in the United Nations’ celebration of the International Year of Forests 2011 with the theme “Forests for People” in order to attain human, economic and ecological security.

The Eco-trail Running Event will loop Coastal and Forest Ecosystems in the rich biomes of Bulusan, Province of Sorsogon, Philippines. With the theme, RUN, WALK, CLIMB, PLANT & GROW TREES, SAVE THE FORESTS, TO SAVE LIVES!

To commence in Poblacion Area of Bulusan - in front of the LGU Compound at around 5:30 early Sunday morning of August 28th, pass by the St. James the Greater Parish Patio to witness the historic Spanish Belfry and the Baluartes de Piedra (Spanish Stone Watch Towers) along the coastline of Dancalan Beach, traverse trails of Bulusan River, Bayugin Falls and centennial Pili farm lands, climb hills and slopes overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean in Sn. Francisco Highlands and Pacific View, commune with nature at the periphery forest area of BVNP particularly, within the trails of cool and placid Bulusan Lake – the “Switzerland of the Orient” then to Brgy. San Roque's Lakelette the "Saday na Danao" and Brgy. San Rafael's Nasipit Springs then end in-front of LGU Bulusan to complete the 21K challenging Circuit.

A community and Local Government's initiative for biodiversity conservation and ecotourism promotion thru Participative Restoration with Eco-livelihood Support, Education and Research to Vitalize Ecosystems (PRESERVE) Conservation Program Strategy of AGAP Bulusan, Inc. and the Local Government Unit of Bulusan thru the leadership of Hon. Mayor Michael G. Guysayko, with the assistance from Barangays, Municipalities & Provincial LGUs lead by Hon. Governor Raul Lee, including the Office of the Representative for the Second District of Sorsogon, DOT, DENR and other National Government Agencies (NGAs). Private partners include NEWTON RUNNING PHILIPPINES, TOBY'S, RUNNR, EDC BacMan and ABS-CBN Foundation.
